The Curse of Yankee Stadium began yesterday. 10-2 ownage by the Indian's to open the new (ie fake) Yankee Stadium as every past Yankee hero they could dig up sat in the seats. Sacred ground has begun it's demolition next door. Many have said the new place gives the team none of the "10th man" advantages the real stadium could offer to help the team out. The old place had the upper deck that felt like it was coming down right on top of the opposing team giving them a feeling of being throw to the lions. The bleachers were a noisy place that would rattle the other team to no end. Yesterday it was said the acoustics were such that it seemed quiet. Great. For 81 games a year they have no home field advantage. The ghosts are gone. The aura has left. The visiting team shall feel comfortable in this new fake stadium built in honor of the corporate dollar.
Thanks Yankees. You've ruined one of the last things I treasured in life. Enjoy the 100 year curse this place will bring you.
I guess I still have NASCAR.

BIG RED X
Too bad. It was a pic from yesterday showing the field already dug up on the real stadium. I've added one from a few months ago. Real stadium on the left still has the unmolested diamond.
