Lady you are as far out of your element as you can be.

Because thousands of "elements" died in faraway places and right here at home for what that flag represents which makes that flag valuable to them and other patriots.  You, and our current president, obviously do not understand this.

No big surprise really.

Defined

She ranted: "I don't get it, I really don't understand it but what is your principle in the Deep South? Is your principle hatred and you would rather starve and die poor than betray your principle? What is your principle?"

It is called having enough pride to want to help yourself instead, dummy.

Assumptions

I assume I still have blogging privileges around here even though it has been far too long since my last post.  What brings me out of hibernation is the current war of words in the media over what is acceptable or not acceptable to say on the airwaves or in print media or on the internet via tweets or blog posts, commenting, etc.

Basically it boils down to this:  Conservatives can't say shit, but Liberals can say anything they want about anyone, anytime, anywhere, in any medium and to any degree of vile, low-brow disgustingness. Not even sure if that is a word, but it works here.  And the current leader of the Liberal dipshit horde is the ubiquitous Bill Maher.

Of particular offense, to me anyway, are his recent comments about my home state of Mississippi and of Southerners in general.  The twit tweeted recently "Toothless Tuesday Too Tight to Tally" in reference to the primary elections that were held this week in Alabama and Mississippi.  And prior to that, he showed a "documentary" video on his HBO show that was produced by Nancy Pelosi's daughter (don't know her name and who cares anyway) that supposedly showed the average voter (e.g., white redneck stereotypes) of Mississippi.  Naturally, the video depicted the worst of the worst our state has to offer as far as human packaging and intelligence is concerned, but those people are the exception to the rule.

I am sure that I could walk the street of Nancy Pelosi's daughter's (don't know her name and who cares anyway) hometown and find some equally filthy looking and stupid people.  As a matter of fact, I dare Nancy Pelosi's daughter (don't know her name and who cares anyway) to drive into the ghettos of Jackson and ask the indigenous people questions about public policy or what religion they thought Mitt Romney was.  She would assuredly receive some equally stupendous, narrow-minded, and stupefying answers.  She'll be lucky if she is not accosted in some fashion.

Not that I expected any balance from these people.  It would be too much to ask for her to walk into, say, a law office or one of our local and very expensive private colleges to ask the same questions to someone who is as "intellectual" as herself.  I'm sure she would have been dumbfounded to hear well-reasoned answers to her stupid questions, but we all know what she was hoping for was someone to say "I don't like Obama cuz he's a nigger!"  That would have been the coup de grace for Liberals, so then they could point their long, bony finger of hypocrisy yelping "See, see, see what we've  been trying to tell you!?"

This morning I kept hearing an old country song from my college days with lyrics like this:

The preacher man says it’s the end of time
And the Mississippi River she’s a goin’ dry
The interest is up and the Stock Markets down
And you only get mugged
If you go down town

. . .and. . .

Because you can’t starve us out
And you cant makes us run
Cuz we're them old boys raised on shotgun
And we say grace and we say Ma’am
And if you ain’t into that we don’t give a damn

You can think what you want to about people from the South.  Yes, the stereotypes live on because people like the stereotypes live and it doesn't matter if you are black, white, green, or purple or if you were born with a silver spoon in your mouth or a third nipple.  We are all just people, some good, some bad, some poor, some rich, some smart and some incredibly stupid.  But remember, just because someone is on television doesn't necessarily mean they are educated or smart (see: Soledad O'Brien) and just because someone talks funny or doesn't like the president with the strange name does not mean they are stupid nor racist.

One day Nancy Pelosi's daughter (don't know her name and who cares anyway), is going to need people like us and them.  Those of us who were raised with the skills to survive, who know how to hunt, fish, grow vegetables, and raise farm animals.  When your private jet flies no more because oil no longer flows from the Middle East after some catastrophic event like the Iranians nuking one of its neighbors or even us, or the large shining cities on the hill become towering infernos when society eventually fractures, it'll be us rednecks who know how to "can" food, care for ourselves and family, who can survive without the modern conveniences that Liberals so take for granted.

We may be "stupid" or "inbred", but I can tell you one thing Nancy Pelosi's daughter (don't know her name and who cares anyway), we are prepared, we are packing and we will remember people like you.  The next time you cross the line that demarcates this state, it might be palms up seeking help and you know what?  We will help you.  Us and millions of others just like us.  And not just Southerners.  We live everywhere.  Mississippi.  Kansas.  New York state.  Even in California.  It'll be us that saves this country when the rule of law has been so broken that laws no longer exists.  We will save this country from people like you and we will invite you into the fold of a new and far better place to live.  Balance has a way of finding balance where there is none, and today. . .there is no balance.
