Obama's Website Hypes Stimulus Jobs in Districts that Don't Exist

They don't even put any effort into their fraud anymore.

Here's a stimulus success story: In Arizona's 9th Congressional District, 30 jobs have been saved or created with just $761,420 in federal stimulus spending. At least that's what the website set up by the Obama Administration to track the $787 billion stimulus says.There's one problem, though: There is no 9th Congressional District in Arizona; the state has only eight Congressional Districts.There's no 86th Congressional District in Arizona either, but the government's recovery.gov Web site says $34 million in stimulus money has been spent there.In fact, Recovery.gov lists hundreds of millions spent and hundreds of jobs created in Congressional districts that don't exist.In Oklahoma, for example, the site lists more than $19 million in spending -- and 15 jobs created -- on Congressional districts that don't exist. In Iowa, it shows $10.6 million spent – and 39 jobs created -- in non-existent districts.In Connecticut's 42nd District (which also does not exist), the website claims 25 jobs created with zero stimulus dollars.The list of spending and job creation in fictional Congressional Districts extends to U.S. territories as well.$68.3 million spent and 72.2 million spent in the 1st Congressional District of the U.S. Virgin Islands.$8.4 million spent and 40.3 jobs created in the 99th Congressional District of the U.S. Virgin Islands.$1.5 million spent and .3 jobs created in the 69th district and $35 million for 142 jobs in the 99th district of the Northern Mariana Islands.$47.7 million spent and 291 jobs created in Puerto Rico's 99th Congressional District.

Last week, Obama hailed the "historic consensus" (the man needs to learn the true meaning of consensus) as world nations at the G-8 summit agreed to pay to cure the planet. China and India did not get on board. What they told Obama is that rich nations should pay for saving the world. --- Actually. You know what? I thought I had an interesting take here. I was going to write how Obama's tax the rich philosophy was blowing up in his face. And how his attempt to create wealth and prosperity for Americans was going to be thwarted by China and India. Turns out, Obama's cool with the global plan to tax the rich. Which, apparently, means he's cool with the United States and those people living in it paying for it. And shame on me for assuming Obama wishes to create wealth and prosperity for Americans.

Barack Obama hailed a "historic consensus" Thursday on cutting pollution, saying rich nations had a duty to set an example, as world leaders also agreed to shun protectionism at a G8 summit.

Brazil, China, Egypt, India, Mexico and South Africa all joined the G8 on its second day, determined that US President Obama and his wealthy partners pick up most of the tab for solving the economic crisis and global warming.

As late as last week, China and India opposed ambitious reduction targets, arguing the rich world should lead the way in fighting climate change.

A "consensus" on curbing climate pollution that doesn't include India and China? The two fastest growing, fastest polluting, least regulated economies in the world? Can anyone who is not a raving moonbat see a problem with that?


Why would a man who is trying to create jobs and wealth for America say such things? Why would he agree to such things? He wouldn't. But a man who is trying to reduce America's standard of living to that of a third world country would say such things. So, you have to figure Obama is one of two things. A man who is determined to end the American standard of living, or just an enormous dipshit. It's a coin toss really.

What Obama Meant by "Line by Line"

Remember when Obama said during the campaign..."and when I'm president, I will go line by line to make sure that we are not spending money unwisely."? He LIED!

Details of the Obama stimulus package include:

#$246 million tax break for Hollywood movie producers to buy motion picture film.

• $650 million for the digital television converter box coupon program.

• $88 million for the Coast Guard to design a new polar icebreaker (arctic ship).

• $600 million to buy hybrid vehicles for federal employees.

• $150 million for Smithsonian museum facilities.

• $75 million for “smoking cessation activities.”

• $200 million for public computer centers at community colleges.

• $25 million for tribal alcohol and substance abuse reduction.

• $500 million for flood reduction projects on the Mississippi River.

• $10 million to inspect canals in urban areas.

• $6 billion to turn federal buildings into “green” buildings.

• $650 million for wildland fire management on forest service lands.

• $1.2 billion for “youth activities,” including youth summer job programs.

• $500 million for building and repairing National Institutes of Health facilities in Bethesda, Maryland.

• $160 million for “paid volunteers” at the Corporation for National and Community Service.

• $5.5 million for “energy efficiency initiatives” at the Department of Veterans Affairs National Cemetery Administration.

• $850 million for Amtrak.

• $100 million for reducing the hazard of lead-based paint.

• $110 million to the Farm Service Agency to upgrade computer systems.

• $200 million in funding for the lease of alternative energy vehicles for use on military installations.

And folks, that's just the details we know about. Many other projects are revealed every day and proven to be nothing but earmarks and pet projects.

Sen. Coburn’s report included 100 examples of “stimulus” waste, including:

* $3 million for a turtle crossing in northern Florida.
* $16 million on scarcely used rural bridges in Wisconsin.
* $840,000 for a bridge in Stevens Point, Wisconsin that carries 260 vehicles a day.
* $9.4 million to renovate a train station that has sat vacant for more than 30 years.
* $2.2 million to install skylights in Montana’s state-run liquor warehouse.
* $1 million dollars for an empty airport in Democratic Rep. John Murtha’s district.
* Money to study the impact wind farms have on the sage grouse population in Oregon.
* Social Security checks that have been mailed to thousands of dead people.

And it wouldn’t be a government project without signs taking credit for spending your money: “Road signs costing $300 each, [are] being placed at construction sites to alert motorists that the project is being paid for by the stimulus money,” the Associated Press reported.

Yes America. Obama looked you right in the eye and lied to you.

If anyone knows Marxism, it's Marxists. Pravda almost seems to pity America.

It must be said, that like the breaking of a great dam, the American descent into Marxism is happening with breath taking speed, against the back drop of a passive, hapless sheeple, excuse me dear reader, I meant people.

First, the population was dumbed down through a politicized and substandard education system based on pop culture, rather then the classics. Americans know more about their favorite TV dramas then the drama in DC that directly affects their lives. They care more for their "right" to choke down a McDonalds burger or a BurgerKing burger than for their constitutional rights. Then they turn around and lecture us about our rights and about our "democracy". Pride blind the foolish.

Then their faith in God was destroyed, until their churches, all tens of thousands of different "branches and denominations" were for the most part little more then Sunday circuses and their televangelists and top protestant mega preachers were more then happy to sell out their souls and flocks to be on the "winning" side of one pseudo Marxist politician or another. Their flocks may complain, but when explained that they would be on the "winning" side, their flocks were ever so quick to reject Christ in hopes for earthly power. Even our Holy Orthodox churches are scandalously liberalized in America.

The final collapse has come with the election of Barack Obama. His speed in the past three months has been truly impressive. His spending and money printing has been a record setting, not just in America's short history but in the world. If this keeps up for more then another year, and there is no sign that it will not, America at best will resemble the Wiemar Republic and at worst Zimbabwe.

These past two weeks have been the most breath taking of all. First came the announcement of a planned redesign of the American Byzantine tax system, by the very thieves who used it to bankroll their thefts, loses and swindles of hundreds of billions of dollars. These make our Russian oligarchs look little more then ordinary street thugs, in comparison. Yes, the Americans have beat our own thieves in the shear volumes. Should we congratulate them?

The Most Expensive President Since 1945

I often wonder why these reports have to come from foreign sources. I wonder, but I know the answer. Der Spiegel contends that Obama is the most expensive president in 6 decades.

Of all things, the president has performed poorly when it comes to the central political issue of the day. Obama has ignited a dangerous time bomb in the US government's budget. The economic stimulus program and the billions in bailout funds for Wall Street banks are being paid for primarily with borrowed funds. Obama's first 100 days have been the most costly in American postwar history.

But from a financial standpoint, the United States cannot afford many of these so-called successes. The bailout programs are not being paid for with "taxpayer money," as Obama claims. Instead, the money is coming from the savings of the frugal Japanese, Chinese and Europeans. The United States now needs $1 billion (€760 million) in foreign funds every working day just to maintain its standard of living. The country consumes more than half of all worldwide savings.

Not only is this is costly, but it is also extremely risky. More important, it is not sustainable. By taking this approach, Obama is only leading his country more deeply into dependence on creditors from around the world. Before long, anyone who wishes to attack America will no longer need nuclear weapons, but merely sufficient dollar reserves. China already has close to $2 trillion (€1.5 trillion) stored away in its coffers.

Things are not exactly adding up when it comes to Obama's economic policy. The effects of economic stimulus packages are usually short-lived. For many people, the government's programs will seem to herald a speedy end to the crisis, but the light at the end of the tunnel will be fueled by burning dollar bills. When the flames subside, darkness will return.

15 Minutes of Federal Spending: That's What Obama's "Savings" Amounts to

President Obama's big announcement that he's instructed cabinet members to come up with plans to save $100 million from the federal budget is just about meaningless, according to a spokesman for National Taxpayers Union.

The cuts are "a sign," said Peter Sepp, "but you'd need a pair of extra-thick glasses to actually see that sign and more importantly try to figure out what's going to happen next."

Sepp said, put in perspective, Obama's plans have virtually no meaning.

"The federal government spends a total of $100 million approximately every 15 minutes of the year," he said. "What Mr. Obama is doing is basically telling his departments 'come up with enough spending cuts to give the taxpayers an extra 15 minutes.'

He called it a "publicity stunt" on Obama's part.

The Spain Experiment: Obama's "Green Jobs" are a Path to Failure

Obama has styled his "green jobs" plan after a similar experiment in Spain. It is destined for failure as it costs more jobs than it creates. From NRO:

# Based upon the Spanish experience that President Oprompter expressly cited as a model, if he succeeded in his (oddly floating) promise to further intervene in the economy to create 3 million (or is it 5 million?) "green jobs," the U.S. should expect to directly kill by the same programs at least 6.6 million (or as many as 11 million) jobs elsewhere in the economy.
# That is because green jobs schemes in Spain killed 2.2 jobs per job created, or about 9 existing jobs — I'll call them "real" jobs — lost for every 4 that are created. The latter, the study shows, then become wards of the state, dependent on the continuation of the mandates and subsidies, subject to the ritual boom and bust of artifically concocted jobs (read: ethanol).
# This does not include jobs lost due to redirection of resources, but are only the jobs directly killed by the scheme.

Amnesty International Shocked by Hillary's Stance on Human Rights in China

Amnesty International and a pro-Tibet group voiced shock Friday after US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton vowed not to let human rights concerns hinder cooperation with China.

Paying her first visit to Asia as the top US diplomat, Clinton said the United States would continue to press China on long-standing US concerns over human rights such as its rule over Tibet.

"But our pressing on those issues can't interfere on the global economic crisis, the global climate change crisis and the security crisis," Clinton told reporters in Seoul just before leaving for Beijing.

The Obama approach is plucked straight from the Chinese playbook. It is the Chinese model not to demand democracy, freedom or even human rights of its trading partners. This allows China to build powerful trade alliances with dictators and other despots. To the Chinese, the bottom line is the bottom line. And this is the policy that the Obama administration has embarked upon. So, liberals are just going to have to shut their pie holes and accept that their Messiah is not going to demand decency or civility, and certainly not humanity of nations with whom he seeks an economic alliance.

Notes from Obama's Townhall Meeting: The Moochers Make their Intentions Clear

Take a look at some of these questions from Obama's townhall meeting in Fort Myers, Florida today. The socialist delusional moochers were out in full force. From the Wall Street Journal's live blog:

12:09 p.m: Republican Gov. Charlie Crist arrives with President Barack Obama and takes the stage. Crowd is chanting, “Yes we can!” Both men say, “Thank you!” to the chants. Crist makes a point of noting that the Florida state budget is balanced–and done without tax hikes but that it’s getting harder. “It’s important that we pass this stimulus package,” he said. “We need to do it in a bipartisan way,” he said.

12:11 p.m: Obama takes the mic to standing ovation and applause. He gives shout outs to Florida politicians in the crowd including Democratic Reps. Allen Boyd, Corrine Brown, Ron Klein, Kendrick Meek (who’s running for the Senate in 2010), Debbie Wasserman-Schultz and Robert Wexler.

12:18 p.m: “The situation we face could not be more serious,” he said, bringing up the Great Depression again. “We cannot afford to wait.” he said, “I believe in hope, but I also believe in action,” he said.

12:31 p.m: Question time. Obama says he’ll call on folks at random, and asks questioners to introduce themselves before they ask questions. Asks them to keep questions brief, and he’ll go “girl-boy-girl-boy” so “I avoid any trouble.”

12:35 p.m: Second question on lenders and loan modification–this is hurting responsible Americans who have lost equity in their property. Obama: Again cites Geithner’s plan, and how “we’ve got to help relieve home-owners.” Obama said in the “next couple of weeks” he will outline the administration’s “overall housing strategy.” He said some people bought homes they couldn’t afford, but others are underwater because of dropping home values. “Unless we address this in a serious way we are not going to be able to get the economy back to where it needs to be,” he said.

12:46 p.m: Fourth question from a man who is unemployed regarding unemployment insurance. “We are bumping it up,” Obama said. “Our priority has to be on job creation,” he said, “Ultimately, people want to work.” Obama says the main point of the stimulus is to create jobs–he has pledged to save or create four million jobs.

12:57 p.m: Seventh question from a woman named Henrietta Hughes (not sure on spelling) who Obama approaches from the stage. She is living in a vehicle and has little assistance. “Please Help,” she said. Obama said his staff would talk to her afterward.

This one was just great. Here's more on what she said:

"I have an urgent need, unemployment and homelessness, a very small vehicle for my family and I to live in," she said. "The housing authority has two years' waiting lists, and we need something more than the vehicle and the parks to go to. We need our own kitchen and our own bathroom. Please help."

President Obama gave her a kiss on the cheek, telling her, "We're going to do everything we can to help you, but there are a lot of people like you." He said his staff would meet with her after the town hall.

Hughes says she and her adult son have been homeless for "a long time." She says her son lost his job in computer programming, and they in turn lost their house. She says she has been looking for a job, although she is on disability for cancer, but so far has not been able to find work.

Hughes was visibly moved by the president. "I'm just grateful to have him to acknowledge and for him to hear me," she said. She would not give specifics about the type of help White House has promised her, only saying she was "satisfied."

1:07 p.m: Tenth and final question from a college student who works at McDonald’s for four years and wants better benefits. Obama gives him credit for working a tough job, and says he’ll benefit from the tax cuts. Obama also says he wants to make college easier to attend and that’s what the tax credit is for.
