In his pre-campaign book, "The Audacity of Hope," Barack Obama proclaims, "I find comfort in the fact that the longer I'm in politics the less nourishing popularity becomes, that a striving for rank and fame seems to betray a poverty of ambition, and that I am answerable mainly to the steady gaze of my own conscience." Some might think this odd testimony from a young and inexperienced freshman senator

Someone please tell this simpleton that, as a politician, he answers to the American voters, not to the "steady gaze of my own conscience." What crap! What conscience? The steady one that changes direction every time he speaks to a different voting block or wants a cheap mortgage?
Five bucks says he shows up at Mile High Stadium in a robe.
Background means a lot when judging a person. His mother was a Communist and father was a Muslim. The Hussein acorn didn't fall far from the tree. Of course he threw his grandmother under the bus. She was fairly decent and white.
He may well turn out to be the "first affirmative action President of the United States."
We've all seen it at eork, haven't we? Inexperienced person of the "right color" (i.e., not white) gets selected for (pick one): promotion, executive management, or company figurehead without any operational authority. PR looks great. Company morale drops. Repeat until company goes in the tank.
Obama's hubris is exactly what results after multiple iterations of such affirmative action unwarranted promotions. High school. Harvard. High-paying entry job. Prestigious awards for nothing much really. It's no wonder that such hubris wells up in the privileged puffery that creates such audacity of taupe.
In a word, they get it. They can con their all the way to the top.
