OBAMA FLIP FLOPS ON MISSILE DEFENSE

He did so in a nationally televised debate. But you see, the majority of Americans are to damn dumb to realize the significance of a man who continually changes his position to suit his audience. That's just the way it is.

Last night he said this:

And we -- we are spending billions of dollars on missile defense. And I actually believe that we need missile defense, because of Iran and North Korea and the potential for them to obtain or to launch nuclear weapons, but I also believe that, when we are only spending a few hundred million dollars on nuclear proliferation, then we're making a mistake.
Earlier this year he was saying this:

This is the "change" he's talking about.

CIRCUMSTANTIAL EVIDENCE POINTS TO DEATH OF AL-ZAWAHIRI

From The Strata-Sphere:

From some discussions with folks who are tied into the intelligence community I have learned that there does exist circumstantial evidence that Ayman al-Zawahiri was injured and/or killed recently, most likely in the July 28th strike in South Waziristan Agency. Like others with sources into the IC, I am hearing there is a serious lack of solid collaborating evidence, but that lack of solid evidence is in both directions. It neither proves Zawahiri is fine or otherwise. Therefore the circumstantial evidence that Zawahiri is injured, dying or dead still stands, albeit unproven either way.

I have been noting the quiet over this matter, which tells me the evidence is strong, but not bullet proof. Everyone in the IC and in the media seems to be keeping their powder dry, waiting on something firm one way or the other. The more likely it is Zawahiri is hurt or dead, the more solid the evidence needs to be before people get up in front of the world to announce his demise. This is a fact of life, no one needs to claim Zawahiri has been taken out until there is solid proof.

And solid proof is hard to come by when the bodies have been recovered and controlled by the enemy. But there are ways which take days to work through. I suspect we may know for sure if Zawahiri was present at the strike site very soon.

MORE MISSILE STRIKES IN PAKISTAN

This may have a lot to do with the new Pakistani government's realization that they are not going to be able to negotiate with the fundamenalists.

Up to nine persons were killed and as many injured in a missile strike carried out on Monday by pilotless drones on the headquarters of a religious group in Pakistan's troubled Khyber Agency.

At least three missiles struck the headquarters of Amar Bil Maroof Wa Nahi Aneelmunkar (promotion of virtue and prevention of vice force) at Bara in Khyber Agency, where Pakistani security forces launched a crackdown against militants on Saturday.

The missiles apparently targeted Haji Namdar, the head of the religious group, but he was safe, eyewitnesses told TV channels.

The witnesses said six to nine persons had died and several of Namdar's close relatives were among the dead.

Haji Namdar quoted witnesses as saying that missile attack was carried out by drones operated by the US forces in Afghanistan. The witnesses said they had seen drones flying overhead when the missile strike occurred at about three a.m.

HERE SHE IS...MISS HEADSCARF

We reported on this last week. I figured you were just dying to know who won:

The winner of DR's Miss Headscarf 2008 competition is Huda Falah (18) from Gentofte. Falah was born in Iraq and has been wearing a headscarf since she was 9. She says it was her own choice, as she saw her mother and cousins wearing the headscarf.

Her reason for wearing a headscarf today: women are like diamonds, and a diamond isn't displayed to everybody. She signed up to the competition since she thinks there's a barrier between Muslim and Danish youth, and saw the competition as a way of breaking it down.
Yes Miss Headscarf. You're the Rosa Parks of Denmark.

DENMARK SEARCHES FOR MISS HEADSCARF

You have GOT to be kidding me. Isn't this the country that just had its embassy bombed by some people in headscarfs?

Hibo Abdull wants to be Denmark's first Miss Headscarf.

The 24-year-old aspiring actress is competing to scoop up the title in a pageant for headscarf-wearing women sponsored by state broadcaster Danmarks Radio. While some Danes regard the hijab as a symbol of what they see as the inferior status of women in Islam, Abdull says her scarf should be celebrated.

The contest comes as Denmark grapples with the fallout from the 2005 publication in a local newspaper of cartoons that linked the Prophet Muhammad to terrorism and sparked riots across the Middle East. This week, a bomb attack outside Denmark's embassy in Pakistan killed at least six people. Danmarks Radio said it wants to ``spark debate'' and won't cancel Miss Headscarf.
What's next? Miss Burqa?

IRAQIS FIND IRANIAN MID-RANGE MISSILE

Iraqi forces have found an Iranian warhead for a medium-range missile in Iraq.

On April 19, Iraqi troops, as part of Operation Charge of the Knights, discovered a cache of munitions that included a 240 mm high-explosive warhead in Basra...

The warhead, which contained Iranian markings, was said to be the most advanced weapon found in the possession of the Mahdi Army.
Meanwhile, back in America, Democrats are screaming "free Tibet".
