Why Obama Isn't Worried About the Disastrous Decisions He's Making

He plans to create or save 11 million Democrat voters.

Though it would seem unlikely that our President would introduce a controversial immigration reform strategy on the cusp of a healthcare decision in the Senate, he did indeed do that today.

The plan calls for a path to citizenship for the 11 million illegal aliens already in the US. On this the administration also seems a bit out of touch. That the vast majority of Mexican illegal invaders according to a recent Zogby Poll have no interest in becoming American Citizens and regardless would hold primary allegiance to Mexico is apparently lost on the President and Secretary Napolitano.

Why? For votes. They're selling America down the river to perpetuate their own incompetence and power.

In an address at the Center for American Progress, a liberal policy group in Washington, Ms. Napolitano sought to dispel any notion that the administration — with health care, energy and other major issues crowding its agenda — might postpone the most contentious piece of an immigration overhaul until after midterm elections next November.

Illegal Immigrants Making Demands of Obama

It's bad enough he's got to please American citizens that he lied to, but it appears he also has to placate those who are not citizens as well.

The 300-plus people who attended the meeting Saturday at St. Pius Church in the Pilsen neighborhood were sending a reminder to President-elect Barack Obama to keep his promise to address immigration reform.

“I expect Barack Obama, our engine for change, will do everything he can to keep his promise for comprehensive immigration reform that reunites families who are already separated and keeps families together,” said Rep. Luis V. Gutierrez (D), who called the meeting and who in the next Congress will reintroduce immigration legislation he co-sponsored last year.

Chicago, Obama’s home, has in recent years been at the forefront of the battle over immigration. The wave of massive marches for immigrant rights in 2006 started here, and Chicago groups — including the grass-roots organization La Familia Latina Unida — have for several years taken the lead nationally on “mixed-status” families.

“President-elect Barack Obama is committed to reviving immigration reform. This has been a priority throughout his career in public office and will continue to be a priority in an Obama administration,” spokeswoman Jen Psaki said…

And then there's this story of 500,000 illegal aliens, including Obama's aunt, defying deportation.

OBAMA SAYS HE DIDN'T KNOW AUNT WAS AN ILLEGAL ALIEN

Yeah buddy. There's all kinds of things you don't know. When convenient, or when in trouble, things are never as you once knew.

Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama said Saturday he didn’t know that one of his relatives was living in the United States illegally and believes the appropriate laws should be followed.

The Associated Press found that Obama’s aunt had been instructed to leave the country four years ago by an immigration judge who rejected her request for asylum from her native Kenya. The woman, Zeituni Onyango, is living in public housing in Boston and is the half-sister of Obama’s late father.

A statement given to the AP by Obama’s campaign said, ”Senator Obama has no knowledge of her status but obviously believes that any and all appropriate laws be followed.”

Onyango is part of Obama’s large paternal family, with many related to him by blood whom he barely knows. Obama first met Onyango when he traveled to Africa as an adult — he referred to her as ”Auntie Zeituni” in his memoir.

The campaign said he has seen her a few times since that meeting, beginning with a return trip to Kenya with his wife, Michelle, four years after the first trip. Onyango visited the family in Chicago on a tourist visa at Obama’s invitation about nine years ago, the campaign said, stopping to visit friends on the East coast before returning to Kenya.

She attended Obama’s swearing-in to the U.S. Senate in 2004, but campaign officials said Obama provided no assistance in getting her a tourist visa and doesn’t know the details of her stay. The campaign said he last heard from her about two years ago when she called saying she was in Boston, but he did not see her there.

Onyango’s refusal to leave the country would represent an administrative, noncriminal violation of immigration law, meaning such cases are handled outside the criminal court system. Estimates vary, but many experts believe there are more than 10 million such immigrants in the U.S.

According to Federal Election Commission documents filed by the Obama campaign, Onyango has contributed $260 to Obama over a period of time. Under federal election law, only U.S. citizens or green-card holders are legally permitted to give money to campaigns. Onyango, who listed her employer as the Boston Housing Authority, gave in small increments to the Obama campaign. Her latest contribution was $5 on Sept. 19.

How many people have been disqualified for the Supreme Court or even cabinet positions because of having hired or even known about illegal aliens?

Really? What is obvious about this? Especially since he obviously allowed her to break the laws in any numbers of ways — including her contribution to his campaign.

Estimates vary, but many experts believe there are more than 10 million such immigrants in the U.S.

Perhaps the phrase the AP was looking for here was “law-breaking illegal aliens” rather than merely calling these people “immigrants.”

Er, nice try Associated Press. But Ms. Onyango looms very large in Mr. Obama’s “Dreams From My Father,” which made Mr. Obama a nice sum of money. And, as even the article notes, he has had contact with her since she has been in the US.

But once again, this is not the Aunt Zeituni Obama knew ™.

Also note that we now know why Mr. Obama was exhorting his followers to vote early — “in case something came up.”
