City Council Meeting Interrupted by Fart

I'm referring to a real fart. Not a Democrat. City Council meeting interrupted by a farting Mayor. The meeting was held in Medina, Ohio.

Someone farted 2 times during the council meeting. Watch the complete video for the repeat farts (#2 at 0:52). The blond is mayor Jane Leaver.



Internet speculation is that the whole thing was a prank pulled by the no doubt Democrat-parented boy in the yellow shirt using a mobile phone application called ifart. iFart, as the name suggests, is a $.99 novelty iPhone app that plays a wide variety of fart sounds.

UPDATE: Another source (and another coming tomorrow) names Obama as a member of the New Socialist Party. From Politically Drunk:

In June sources released information that during his campaign for the State Senate in Illinois, Barack Obama was endorsed by an organization known as the Chicago "New Party". The 'New Party' was a political party established by the Democratic Socialists of America (the DSA) to push forth the socialist principles of the DSA by focusing on winnable elections at a local level and spreading the Socialist movement upwards. The admittedly Socialist Organization experienced a moderate rise in numbers between 1995 and 1999. By 1999, however, the Socialist 'New Party' was essentially defunct after losing a supreme court challenge that ruled the organizations "fusion" reform platform as unconstitutional.

After allegations surfaced in early summer over the 'New Party's' endorsement of Obama, the Obama campaign along with the remnants of the New Party and Democratic Socialists of America claimed that Obama was never a member of either organization. The DSA and 'New Party' then systematically attempted to cover up any ties between Obama and the Socialist Organizations. However, it now appears that Barack Obama was indeed a certified and acknowledged member of the DSA's New Party.

On Tuesday, I discovered a web page that had been scrubbed from the New Party's website. The web page which was published in October 1996, was an internet newsletter update on that years congressional races. Although the web page was deleted from the New Party's website, the non-profit Internet Archive Organization had archived the page.

From the October 1996 Update of the DSA 'New Party':

"New Party members are busy knocking on doors, hammering down lawn signs, and phoning voters to support NP candidates this fall. Here are some of our key races...

Illinois: Three NP-members won Democratic primaries last Spring and face off against Republican opponents on election day: Danny Davis (U.S. House), Barack Obama (State Senate) and Patricia Martin (Cook County Judiciary)."

More confirmation of Obama's membership in the New Party can be found at an article in the November 1996 Progressive Populist magazine:

New Party members and supported candidates won 16 of 23 races, including an at-large race for the Little Rock, Ark., City Council, a seat on the county board for Little Rock and the school board for Prince George's County, Md. Chicago is sending the first New Party member to Congress, as Danny Davis, who ran as a Democrat, won an overwhelming 85% victory. New Party member Barack Obama was uncontested for a State Senate seat from Chicago.

The Democratic Socialist Party of America also reported on Obama's New Party membership in its July/August 1996 edition:

The Chicago New Party is increasely becoming a viable political organization that can make a different in Chicago politics. It is crucial for a political organization to have a solid infrastructure and visible results in its political program. The New Party has continued to solidify this base.

First, in relation to its infrastructure, the NP's membership has increased since January '95 from 225 to 440. National membership has increased from 5700 in December '95 to 7000. Currently the NP's fiscal balance is $7,000 and receives an average of $450/month is sustainer donations.

Secondly, the NP's '96 Political Program has been enormously successful with 3 of 4 endorsed candidates winning electoral primaries. All four candidates attended the NP membership meeting on April 11th to express their gratitude. Danny Davis, winner in the 7th Congressional District, invited NPers to join his Campaign Steering Committee. Patricia Martin, who won the race for Judge in 7th Subcircuit Court, explained that due to the NP she was able to network and get experienced advice from progressives like Davis. Barack Obama, victor in the 13th State Senate District, encouraged NPers to join in his task forces on Voter Education and Voter Registration. The lone loser was Willie Delgado, in the 3rd Illinois House District. Although Delgado received 45% of the vote, he lost by only 800 votes. Delgado commented that it was due to the NP volunteers that he carried the 32nd Ward. Delgado emphasized that he will remain a visible community activist in Humbolt Park. He will conduct four Immigration workshops and encouraged NP activists to get involved.

About 50 activists attended the Chicago New Party membership meeting in July. The purpose of the meeting was to update members on local activities and to hear appeals for NP support from four potential political candidates.

OK...OK...So what is the "New Party"? From American Thinker:

The New Party was a radical left organization, established in 1992, to amalgamate far left groups and push the United States into socialism by forcing the Democratic Party to the left. It was an attempt to regroup the forces on the left in a new strategy to take power, burrowing from within. The party only lasted until 1998, when its strategy of "fusion" failed to withstand a Supreme Court ruling. But dissolving the party didn't stop the membership, including Barack Obama, from continuing to move the Democrats leftward with spectacular success.

Which leads us to the question, what exactly was "fusion"? From RedState:

Fusion is a pretty simple concept. A candidate could run as both a Democrat and a New Party member to signal the candidate was, in fact, a left-leaning candidate, or at least not a center-left DLC type candidate. If the candidate -- let’s call him Barack Obama -- received only 500 votes in the Democratic Party against another candidate who received 1000 votes, Obama would clearly not be the nominee. But, if Obama also received 600 votes from the New Party, Obama’s New Party votes and Democratic votes would be fused. He would be the Democratic nominee with 1100 votes.

And before you go thinking this is all just some stretch by some over-zealous bloggers, keep in mind that it's well-established that Obama was endorsed by the New Party during his state senate run in 1996:

When Barack Obama successfully ran for the Illinois State Senate in 1996(as a Democrat) he was endorsed by the Democratic Socialists of America.

A Marxist organisation, Chicago DSA also endorsed three other candidates that year-Danny K Davis (A DSA member and current US congressman), Willie Delgado and Patricia Martin.

Obama was also endorsed by the Chicago branch of the New Party.

What was the New Party?

Strong in the mid to late '90s the New Party was an electoral alliance dedicated to electing leftist candidates to office-often through the Democratic Party.

Two organisations formed the backbone of the New Party-the Democratic Socialists of America and the US's largest radical organisation, Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN)

Obama’s participation in and endorsement from the Chicago New Party and Chicago DSA, the local affiliate of the Democratic Socialists of America (which is the U.S. affiliate of the Socialist International) is quite clear:

1. According to the write-up on the July 1995 meeting of Chicago DSA and New Party membership, Barack Obama was one of about 50 people attending out of their then-300 member local group. Other documents below will demonstrate Barack Obama attended and participated in subsequent meetings.

2. The New Party rigorously evaluated its candidate endorsements and claimed “a winning ratio of 77 of 110 elections.” This was no passive endorsement.

Candidates must be approved via a NP political committee. Once approved, candidates must sign a contract with the NP. The contract mandates that they must have a visible and active relationship with the NP.—New Ground

3. Candidate Barack Obama participated as a panelist at the DSA-sponsored Town Meeting on February 25, 1996, entitled “Employment and Survival in Urban America”. As reported in New Ground,

Barack Obama observed that Martin Luther King’s March on Washington in the 1960s wasn’t simply about civil rights but demanded jobs as well. Now the issue is again coming to the front, but he wished the issue was on the Democratic agenda not just on Buchanan’s.

One of the themes that has emerged in Barack Obama’s campaign is “what does it take to create productive communities”, not just consumptive communities. It is an issue that joins some of the best instincts of the conservatives with the better instincts of the left. He felt the state government has three constructive roles to play.

The first is “human capital development”. By this he meant public education, welfare reform, and a “workforce preparation strategy”. Public education requires equality in funding. It’s not that money is the only solution to public education’s problems but it’s a start toward a solution. The current proposals for welfare reform are intended to eliminate welfare but it’s also true that the status quo is not tenable. A true welfare system would provide for medical care, child care and job training. While Barack Obama did not use this term, it sounded very much like the “social wage” approach used by many social democratic labor parties. By “workforce preparation strategy”, Barack Obama simply meant a coordinated, purposeful program of job training instead of the ad hoc, fragmented approach used by the State of Illinois today.

The state government can also play a role in redistribution, the allocation of wages and jobs. As Barack Obama noted, when someone gets paid $10 million to eliminate 4,000 jobs, the voters in his district know this is an issue of power not economics. The government can use as tools labor law reform, public works and contracts.

Obama attended a membership meeting on April 11, 1996 where he expressed his gratitude for their support. The report shared that “Barack Obama, victor in the 13th State Senate District, encouraged NPers to join in his task forces on Voter Education and Voter Registration.”

In a sane world, this would mark the end of Obama's campaign. Sadly, we do not live in a sane world. The truth is that unless you forward this story to all you know, it won't reach even 1% of the American population. The other tragic aspect of this story is that so many Americans would openly welcome socialism because they simply don't know what oppressions come with government ass-wiping.

The Rev. Jeremiah Wright, Barack Obama's fiery ex-pastor, re-emerged yesterday with a crude reference about race and sex in the White House.

"This ordinary boy [Obama] just might be the first president in the history of the United States to have a black woman sleeping at 1600 Pennsylvania legally," Wright said, referring to Michelle Obama, in a sermon at the Wheeler Avenue Baptist Church in Houston.

It was unclear whether Wright was making a reference to prostitution, to old miscegenation laws, or to the history of illicit interracial sex under slavery.

Wright's remarks yesterday were full of praise for Obama - although several times, he referred to Obama as a "boy" who later developed into an extraordinary person, through God's work and, presumably, Wright's guidance.

"The lord turned the ordinary into the extraordinary. Y'all just saw it this past week. It was on national television," Wright said to applause.

"An ordinary black boy raised in a single-parent home . . . walked into my office 20 years ago to talk about his dream for a community that concentrated on things that we could achieve in common."

Readers of The Big Feed already know this, but it's a nice summary nonetheless:

Members of the media, by a 4-to-1 ratio, self-identify as political liberals. This does not fully explain why Sen. Barack Obama received preferential treatment in his campaign against Hillary Clinton. However, it could explain why they are ignoring his flaws and untruths.

Obama is not going through the intense vetting process which candidates usually have experienced by this stage of a national campaign. Consciously or not, the national media are neglecting to shine the spotlight on him when it comes to blunders and mistakes.

His mistakes range from the laughable to the seriously critical.

This week during an 11-minute impromptu statement to the media, he stumbled and said “uh…” 144 times. When off the TelePrompTer, he clearly is not the golden orator we have been sold.

Little was mentioned outside the blogs when Obama said that he has traveled all 57 states. Dan Quayle must be envious.

When arguing that our military’s Arabic translators are needed in Afghanistan, he did not know that Afghans do not speak Arabic. George Bush would have been crucified for such an error.

His campaign lied when asked if he was born a Muslim. The media took him at his word and did not research enough to find out that Islam is patrilineal. This example of cultural ignorance had the Israeli media buzzing.

Obama told a crowd that Iran does not “pose a serious threat to us” because “tiny countries” having small defense budgets are not a threat to America. The following day, after a little homework, he was correcting himself: “I’ve made it clear for years that the threat from Iran is grave.”

During his Senate race, Obama admitted using drugs beginning in high school and into college. To many a left-wing journalist, use of marijuana and cocaine are no big deal, so why should they bring attention to Obama’s past use? Allegations of later drug use have been ignored.

While overlooking Obama’s cocaine usage, recent displays of lack of knowledge and campaign mistakes, the media are committing a great disservice to America. They are essentially abandoning their historical role as a watchdog over government and politics.

The media do not want to recognize his problems. There is no pressing of Obama as we have seen with Hillary Clinton over her Bosnia story or John McCain over lobbyists in his campaign. Softball questions are the order of the day when he meets with the media. They want him to succeed so badly they are willing to accept his shortcomings and faults. However, most Americans are not aware of this media bias and believe the information they are being told is objective.

The media are acting like a group of friends saying “we’ve got you covered” to another friend in need. Barack Hussein Obama is the “Golden Boy” of America’s liberal media elite -- and because of that, they have him covered.

Otis the Frogman was a black man from Georgia, his nickname, presumably, a reference to his unusually formed limbs. His act was to roll, light and smoke a cigarette using only his lips. Until he was 28, he had eked a living from hawking pencils and other goods; his break came when he showed his cigarette trick to a carnival that was passing through town and was asked to join up as a novelty act. He took up the offer, describing it as "the best thing that had ever happened". In addition to enjoying the traveling and being accepted as a valued member the group, the income had allowed him to buy a small house in his hometown.

I thought I had only imagined Otis the Frogman...Really, I thought that I had never seen what I saw...You know how your recollection plays tricks on you and you realize sometime later that things were never as you recall?...I doubted my recollections of Otis...from so many years ago...at the Dixie Classic Fair...the October air crisp and cool...my floppy hair obscuring my eyes...a Loni Anderson poster, won after $15 worth of ring toss, tucked firmly under my arm...But I saw it...It was almost exactly as I recall...as validated by my own internet research...conducted just 20 minutes ago...and I realize at right this very moment...I should have left that memory alone...not even sought to verify it...things were better that way...my life was better then...and it was better just 20 minutes ago...before Google solved the mystery...I need a cigarette.
