100 TALIBAN LEARN THE HARD WAY WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU MESS WITH SASQUATCH

Right on my pasty white brothers:

About 100 militants were killed in Afghanistan’s Helmand province, half in air strikes that thwarted a major attack on a key town overnight, Afghan and British forces said on Sunday.

The attempt to enter Lashkar Gah from three directions was “virtually unprecedented” in the area in the scale of the attacking force and their degree of coordination, British military spokesman Lieutenant Colonel Woody Page said.

Between 50 and 60 militants, part of a group of 150 that had been seen massing outside of the town for several days, were killed in air strikes that stopped them from entering Lashkar Gah, the Afghan and British forces said. Around 40 more were killed in a three-day operation in the nearby Nad Ali district that wound up on Saturday, they said.

UK MILITARY COMMANDER SAYS WAR AGAINST THE TALIBAN CANNOT BE WON

Witness the total collapse of the British Empire. Imagine if the Americans had told the British that the war against Nazi Germany could not be won. Frankly, the Brits and every other European country are worthless as military allies. Absolutely worthless. And that spells the end of Western Civilization.

Britain's most senior military commander in Afghanistan has warned that the war against the Taliban cannot be won. Brigadier Mark Carleton-Smith said the British public should not expect a “decisive military victory” but should be prepared for a possible deal with the Taliban.

His assessment followed the leaking of a memo from a French diplomat who claimed that Sir Sherard Cowper-Coles, the British ambassador in Kabul, had told him the current strategy was “doomed to fail”.

Carleton-Smith, commander of 16 Air Assault Brigade, which has just completed its second tour of Afghanistan, said it was necessary to “lower our expectations”. He said: “We’re not going to win this war. It’s about reducing it to a manageable level of insurgency that’s not a strategic threat and can be managed by the Afghan army.”

OBAMA ATTACKS McCAIN'S WAR DISABILITY: SHAMELESS ASSHOLE!!!

Here's Obama's new ad mocking McCain's inability to use a computer and send emails.

Shameless! McCain's inability to do these things and the reasons therefore are widely known, if not painfully obvious.

The Boston Globe reported on the reasons why McCain doesn't use a computer in 2000.

McCain gets emotional at the mention of military families needing food stamps or veterans lacking health care. The outrage comes from inside: McCain’s severe war injuries prevent him from combing his hair, typing on a keyboard, or tying his shoes. Friends marvel at McCain’s encyclopedic knowledge of sports. He’s an avid fan - Ted Williams is his hero - but he can’t raise his arm above his shoulder to throw a baseball.

After Vietnam, McCain had Ann Lawrence, a physical therapist, help him regain flexibility in his leg, which had been frozen in an extended position by a shattered knee. It was the only way he could hope to resume his career as a Navy flier, but Lawrence said the treatment, taken twice a week for six months, was excruciatingly painful.

”He endured it, he wouldn’t settle for less,” said Lawrence, who rejoiced with McCain when he passed the Navy physical. ”I have never seen such toughness and resolve.”
Forbes also reported on this matter in 2000.
In certain ways, McCain was a natural Web candidate. Chairman of the Senate Telecommunications Subcommittee and regarded as the U.S. Senate’s savviest technologist, McCain is an inveterate devotee of email. His nightly ritual is to read his email together with his wife, Cindy. The injuries he incurred as a Vietnam POW make it painful for McCain to type. Instead, he dictates responses that his wife types on a laptop. “She’s a whiz on the keyboard, and I’m so laborious,” McCain admits.
But Obama the unhinged asshole doesn't care. Anything to score political points. Karma's a bitch you asshat!

What has happened here is that Obama has opened the door to attack his complete lack of military experience. He's never commanded soldiers. He's never fired a rifle. He's never flown a fighter jet. Frankly, he's never done anything.

LEFTIST LOONS RUNNING AMOK IN MINNEAPOLIS!

From Founding Fathers:

Founding Bloggers correspondents Andrew Marcus and Mike Kadela called in from the Minnesota State Capital Building on the chaotic protest that is developing.

Officials in St. Paul encouraged state workers to leave early today.
There are reports that the police are arresting random protesters and concerns that there may be a huge crackdown at 5:00 PM.

UPDATE: There were multiple arrests at the capital.
The situation is very tense.
There are 3,000- 5,000 protesters gathered at the capital.

The protesters are very agitated.

UPDATE: The protesters attempted to march to the Xcel Center from the capital. They were stopped at John Ireland Boulevard and Rice Street in between the capital and the cathedral. Protesters on bikes are riding around at the intersection. The police ordered the protesters to disperse about 25 minutes ago but the protesters did not hear them or want to hear them.

Someone is writing in the intersection with chalk: “F-the Police!”

UPDATE: The majority of the protesters departed back to the capital building. They do not have a permit to protest there tonight so things could get really crazy.

UPDATE: The crowd is taunting the police at the capital. So far there is a very tense standoff.
Douchebags!

CIVIL WAR BREAKING OUT AMONG PAKISTAN TALIBAN

Can't they all just get along?

Taliban in the Bajaur tribal district split into two factions after infighting between two militant organisations in Mohmand Agency led to the killing of eight members of one group on July 18.

Pro-Baitullah Mehsud Taliban leader Umer Khalid killed eight members from the Shah Sahib militant group, including its chief and deputy chief, on July 18.

“We, four commanders, are resigning from the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) over the killing of mujahideen in Mohmand Agency,” Salar Masood, a spokesman for the four commanders, told Daily Times on Monday. “We will form our own group – Tehreek-e-Taliban Al Jihad – to continue jihad against the United States,” Masood said on the phone from an undisclosed location in the Bajaur region. Maulvi Munir, Dr Abdul Wahab and Maulvi Abdul Hameed are the three other commanders who left the TTP.

“Innocent mujahideen were killed in Mohmand. This is against shariah. Mujahideen do not kill innocent people,” Masood said. He charged the Baitullah Mehsud-led TTP with “deviating” from the real cause of fighting the Americans inside Afghanistan. “We took up the matter with Baitullah Mehsud but he did not take our concern seriously,” he said.
Jihad schmucks.

AP REPORTS U.S. WINNING IRAQ WAR: THE QUAGMIRE THAT NEVER WAS

An AP report released today:

The United States is now winning the war that two years ago seemed lost.

Limited, sometimes sharp fighting and periodic terrorist bombings in Iraq are likely to continue, possibly for years. But the Iraqi government and the U.S. now are able to shift focus from mainly combat to mainly building the fragile beginnings of peace — a transition that many found almost unthinkable as recently as one year ago.

Despite the occasional bursts of violence, Iraq has reached the point where the insurgents, who once controlled whole cities, no longer have the clout to threaten the viability of the central government.

This amounts to more than a lull in the violence. It reflects a fundamental shift in the outlook for the Sunni minority, which held power under Saddam Hussein. They launched the insurgency five years ago. They now are either sidelined or have switched sides to cooperate with the Americans in return for money and political support.
Nice job AP. The Big Feed declared victory almost two months ago. Meanwhile, Obama is still claiming the surge didn't work.

OBAMA THEN AND NOW: WE'RE OUT...WE'RE IN

Obama then. He is serious about ending the war.

Obama now. He is serious about ending the war. Unless we're winning.

I believe the words you're looking for Obama are "I have no idea what the hell I'm talking about".

SENATORS REMOVE THEIR OWN STATEMENTS FROM REPORT ON PRE-WAR IRAQ INTELLIGENCE

From Flopping Aces:

The Senate Intelligence Committee finally released it’s long-awaited/overdue report on their investigation into pre-war intelligence on Saddam’s Iraq. This final report was supposed to look at statements made by government officials in the run up to war from 1991-2003. It was supposed to examine the pre-war marketing or threat assessment and descriptions to the public about the intelligence regarding the threat posed by Saddam’s regime. Instead, the report looked at just 5 Bush Administration speeches. It completely left out any and all comments from Pres Bush Sr, Pres Clinton, anyone in his administration, and every member of the House and Senate over a twelve year period.

In the minority’s “Additional Views” section of the report, we’re given a sampling of what comments the Democrat committee chose to remove from the report as insignificant:

In the four years since the inspectors left, intelligence reports show that Saddam Hussein has worked to rebuild his chemical and biological weapons stock, his missile delivery capability, and his nuclear program. He has also given aid, comfort and sanctuary to terrorists, including al-Qa’idamembers. - Senator Hillary Clinton, Congressional Record, October 10, 2002.

There is unmistakable evidence that Saddam Hussein is working aggressively to develop nuclear weapons and will likely have nuclear weapons within the next 5 years. He could have it earlier ifhe is able to obtain fissile materials on the outside market, which is possible–difficult but possible. We also should remember we have always underestimated the progress that Saddam Hussein has been able to make in the development of weapons of mass destruction. Senator John D. Rockefeller IV, Congressional Record, October 10,2002.

Saddam Hussein is an evil man, a dictator who oppresses his people and flouts the mandate of the international community. While this behavior is reprehensible, it is Hussein’s vigorous pursuit of biological, chemicaland nuclear weapons, and his present and potential future support for terrorist acts and organizations, that make him a terrible danger to the people to the United States. Senator Charles Schumer, Congressional Record, October 10,2002

There is no question that Iraq possesses biological and chemical weapons and that he seeks to acquire additional weapons of mass destruction, including nuclear weapons. That is not in debate.
Senator Christopher Dodd, Congressional Record, October 9, 2002.

We know that he has chemical and biological weapons. He has already used them against his neighbors and his own people, and is trying to build more. We know that he is doing everything he can to build nuclear weapons, and we know that each day he gets closer to achieving that goal.
Senator John Edwards, Congressional Record, October 10, 2002.

Almost no one disagrees with these basic facts: that Saddam Hussein is a tyrant and a menace; that he has weapons of mass destruction and that he is doing everything in his power to get nuclear weapons; that he has supported terrorists; that he is a grave threat to the region, to vital allies like Israel, and to the United States; and that he is thwarting the will of the international community and undermining the United Nations’ credibility.
Senator John Edwards, Congressional Record, October 10, 2002

According to the CIA’s report, all U.S. intelligence experts agree that Iraq is seeking nuclear weapons. There is little question that Saddam Hussein wants to develop nuclear weapons. The more difficult question to answer is when Iraq could actually achieve this goal. That depends on is its ability to acquire weapons grade fissile material. If Iraq could acquire this material from abroad, the CIA estimates that it could have a nuclear weapon within 1 year.
Senator John Kerry, October 9,2002.

When you look at what Saddam Hussein has at his disposal, in terms of chemical, biological, and perhaps even nuclear weapons, we cannot ignore the threat that he poses to the region and the fact that he has fomented terrorism throughout his reign. Senator Dick Durbin, December 21, 2001, Larry King Live.

So why weren't these statements contained in the report? Because the Democrats' political future is invested in America's defeat and destruction. That's why. And at least half of America seems cool with that.

THE WAR IS WON!

Despite what the Democrat politicians want you to believe, the Iraq war is won.

The latest proof came last month, as the Iraqi army - just a few months ago the target of scorn and abuse from Democratic politicians and journalists - forcefully reoccupied three cities that had served as key insurgency bases (Basra, Sadr City and Mosul).

Sunnis and Shias alike applauded as their nation's army compelled insurgent militias to lay down their arms. The country's leading opposition newspaper, Azzaman, led the applause for the move into Mosul - a sign that national reconciliation in Iraq is under way and probably irreversible.

US combat deaths in May also were down to 20, the lowest monthly total since February 2004. The toll for May 2007 was 121.

In a Washington Post interview, CIA Director Michael Hayden said we're witnessing the "near strategic defeat of al Qaeda in Iraq."

The Bush administration has taken heaps of abuse for its Iraq policy, including its decision to launch the "surge" last December. Now the strategy, which our nation's "best and brightest" regularly dismissed as a failure, has cleared the way for the establishment of a secure democracy in Iraq and a lasting peace.
My personal opinion is that the war is as won as it will ever be. Iraq will never be completely free of violence and terrorism. Al Qaeda and others will always stage attacks of some sort. Just as they do in every other Islamic nation. But for purposes of establishing a new Iraqi government, and a military force capable of defending itself, that mission is accomplished. Of course, in the minds and hearts of those American politicians who have invested in defeat, they will never admit victory. They will point to any and all acts of violence in Iraq and claim it as defeat for America. That much I will guarantee. In observing the landscape of Iraq, however, as it exists today, there is nothing more the American military can accomplish that isn't done, or very close to being done. That is victory. Rejoice! And God bless America.

BUSH DIDN'T LIE ABOUT IRAQ: AND THAT'S ACCORDING TO THE WASHINGTON POST

The Washington Post of all outlets is saying that Bush didn't lie about Iraq. Of course, there is a major political party attracting votes for lying about lying. So don't expect the mainstream media to take this angle.

Sen. John D. Rockefeller IV (D-W.Va.), chairman of the Select Committee on Intelligence, set out to provide the official foundation for what has become not only a thriving business but, more important, an article of faith among millions of Americans. And in releasing a committee report Thursday, he claimed to have accomplished his mission, though he did not use the L-word.

"In making the case for war, the administration repeatedly presented intelligence as fact when it was unsubstantiated, contradicted or even nonexistent," he said.

But dive into Rockefeller's report, in search of where exactly President Bush lied about what his intelligence agencies were telling him about the threat posed by Saddam Hussein, and you may be surprised by what you find.

On Iraq's nuclear weapons program? The president's statements "were generally substantiated by intelligence community estimates."

On biological weapons, production capability and those infamous mobile laboratories? The president's statements "were substantiated by intelligence information."

On chemical weapons, then? "Substantiated by intelligence information."

On weapons of mass destruction overall (a separate section of the intelligence committee report)? "Generally substantiated by intelligence information." Delivery vehicles such as ballistic missiles? "Generally substantiated by available intelligence." Unmanned aerial vehicles that could be used to deliver WMDs? "Generally substantiated by intelligence information."

As you read through the report, you begin to think maybe you've mistakenly picked up the minority dissent. But, no, this is the Rockefeller indictment. So, you think, the smoking gun must appear in the section on Bush's claims about Saddam Hussein's alleged ties to terrorism.

But statements regarding Iraq's support for terrorist groups other than al-Qaeda "were substantiated by intelligence information." Statements that Iraq provided safe haven for Abu Musab al-Zarqawi and other terrorists with ties to al-Qaeda "were substantiated by the intelligence assessments," and statements regarding Iraq's contacts with al-Qaeda "were substantiated by intelligence information." The report is left to complain about "implications" and statements that "left the impression" that those contacts led to substantive Iraqi cooperation.
Of course, this information means nothing to those it should mean the most. Those running for office on the "Bush lied" lie.

US MAKES PROGRESS IN IRAQ'S "TRIANGLE OF DEATH"

Here's some news you won't hear on CNN...

When the U.S. 3rd Infantry Division arrived in Iraq's once infamous "Triangle of Death," violence there and in neighboring Baghdad was so intense that hundreds were dying every day and the country was virtually in a state of civil war.

Now as the division heads home at the end of May, the region stretching south from Baghdad and across central Iraq has become a showcase for what the U.S. military hoped to achieve in Iraq.

"When we first arrived here 15 months ago there was nothing but sectarian violence, al-Qaida, Shiite extremists," the division commander Maj. Gen. Rick Lynch said as he wrapped up a tour of an industrial complex.

Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki and U.S. officials are likely to tout successes like that here during a U.N. conference that begins Thursday in Sweden, aimed at reviewing political and security progress in Iraq. The gathering will also see pressure on Iraqi leaders to make similar movement on political goals, such as reconciliation between the country's Sunnis, Shiites and Kurds.

The U.S. military says violence across Iraq has reached its lowest level in more than four years after successes this year in breaking al-Qaida's and other Sunni insurgents' hold in western Iraq and _ more recently _ government crackdowns in the southern city of Basra and northern city of Mosul.

HAND OF ALLAH COMES FOR ARKAN HASNAWI

Remember the uproar a few weeks ago about a missile strike in a residential neighborhood of Sadr City? Next to a hospital of all places, the left shrieked. Well it turns out some high level Mahdi leaders received their virgins in that building. Animals like Mahdi Army commander Arkan Hasnawi were rendered room temp. The Dirty Liberal Media had a mini fit about this a few weeks ago because the Army had the nerve to use the Guided Multiple Launch Rocket System (GMLRS) in a "residential" neighborhood. Well, once again turns out it was for good reason. Oh and by the way, the terrorists in Iraq have come to call the GMLRS the "Hand of Allah" as it seems to come from nowhere. Tee hee!

Oh, there is some serious ownage going on there. They seem a little down about it too:

The US military estimates more than 700 Mahdi Army fighters were killed. "It is pretty safe to say that we have killed the equivalent of a U.S. battalion," Colonel John Hort, the commander of the 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division told The New York Times.
A Mahdi Army commander put the number closer to 1,000 killed over the past six weeks. "A thousand martyrs, what did they die for?" the commander said.

Awww! Sniff, sniff! What did they die for? You tell us, pig-dog!

CHINA PREPARING FOR NUCLEAR WAR

I've been saying this for years. It seems more people are concerned with chasing the ghosts of jihadists than waking up to what is the real threat facing the world.
Defense analysts for the British intelligence service MI6 believe China is preparing for the "eventuality of a nuclear war." The conclusion follows evidence that Beijing has built secretly a major naval base deep inside caverns which even sophisticated satellites cannot penetrate, says a report in Joseph Farah's G2 Bulletin.

In an unusual development, the analysts have provided details to the specialist defense periodical, Jane's Intelligence Review, which published satellite images of the base location which is hidden beneath millions of tons of rock on the South China Sea island of Hainan.

The MI6 analysts have confirmed the submarine base hewn out of the rock will contain up to 20 of the latest C94 Jin-Class submarines, each capable of firing anti-satellite missiles and nuclear tipped rockets.

Knocking out the satellites would leave Taiwan, Japan and other countries around the Pacific Rim effectively without a key warning system. An attack also would disrupt vital communications between U.S. battle squadrons in the region and Washington.

Satellite images studied by GCHQ, Britain's spy in the sky intelligence gathering organization based at Cheltenham that works closely with the U.S. National Security Agency, have confirmed the entrance to the base is through no fewer than 11 separate tunnel openings.

AL QAEDA DECLARES WAR ON HEZBOLLAH

AQ must be running out of soft targets in Iraq.

Al-Qaeda has reportedly called on its operatives to go to Lebanon and defend what it called the Sunni community of the country.

The report came while some Arab media outlets described the current clashes in Lebanon as a fight between Sunni and Shia communities.

In an interviews with Sunni clerics with links to Saad Hariri's pro-government bloc, Al-Arabiya TV network described the ongoing clashes as a sectarian strife.

Sheikh Ali al-Jozo, Mufti of the Jebel region, who is well known for his harsh stance against Hezbollah told the TV network that the clashes are a battle between Lebanon's Shia and Sunni communities and called on Arab leaders to prevent "Iran's influence in the country."

The TV network reported that al-Qaeda on all of its websites urged its operatives to defend the Sunni community of Lebanon.

The reports came while in interviews with NBN and al-Manar TV stations on Thursday, a number of Sunni clerics said that the clashes are not a sectarian strife and many Sunni Muslims in Lebanon support Hezbollah.
There is a Sunni/Shia split to be exploited in the Middle East. Of course, what can be made of this split is a mystery. None of those people think right.

BIG CRACKDOWN IS COMING TO SADR CITY

The Iraqi government is telling residents of Sadr city to get out. This is a clear sign that a smackdown is coming.

Iraqi security forces, after more than of 40 days of intense fighting, on Thursday told residents to evacuate their homes in the northeast Shiite slum of Sadr City and to move to temporary shelters on two soccer fields.

The military's call, indicating the possibility of stepped-up military operations, came as Iraqi security forces raided the radio station run by backers of Shiite cleric Muqtada al Sadr and militants launched rockets at a coalition force operating base in the southern port city of Basra, killing two contractors and injuring four civilians and four coalition soldiers.

Two soccer fields in east and northeast Baghdad are expected to receive some 16,000 evacuees from the southeast portion of the city where the fighting has been most intense.
Frankly, I would evacuate the entire city in this fashion with the understanding that anyone left will be considered an enemy combatant. Then I would establish checkpoints for return to ensure that arms were not re-entering the city. Not full proof by any means, but certainly a better alternative to sporadic engagements that accomplish nothing.

NORTH KOREA READYING FOR WAR?

It certainly looks like North Korea is preparing for war.

North Korean military engineers are completing an underground runway beneath a mountain that can protect fighter aircraft from attack until they take off at high speed through the mouth of a tunnel.

The 6,000ft runway is a few minutes’ flying time from the tense front line where the Korean People’s Army faces soldiers from the United States and South Korea.
Quite an expenditure for a country that can't even feed its people.

CODE PINK WEENIES

This is the funniest thing I've seen in a while. These Code Pink losers were kicked out of the Gen. Petraeus hearing last week en mass. Apparently Joe Biden is good for something, and when one of them started making noise they were all booted. On the attached video they are seen as they are being taken away by cops. These are some seriously annoying people who no one in their right mind would hire. Or they'd be at work, no?

VIDEO: IRAN MOSQUE EXPLOSION BLAMED ON OLD BOMBS

A "place of peace" seems a strange place to be storing old war material.
