COLLEGE CREDIT IN EXCHANGE FOR CAMPAIGNING FOR OBAMA

And what degree do these credits go towards? An Associates Degree in Dumb Ass?

University of Massachusetts officials on Monday quashed efforts by an Amherst campus chaplain to offer two college credits to any student willing to campaign in New Hampshire this fall for Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama.

Chaplain Kent Higgins told students in a Sept. 18 e-mail, "If you're scared about the prospects for this election, you're not alone. The most important way to make a difference in the outcome is to activate yourself. It would be just fine with (Republican candidate John) McCain if Obama supporters just think about helping, then sleep in and stay home between now and Election Day."

Higgins added that an unnamed "sponsor" in the university's history department would offer a two-credit independent study for students willing to canvass — identify supporters — or volunteer on behalf of the Democratic nominee.

University officials disavowed the effort after inquiries Monday by The Associated Press. They said it could run afoul of state ethics laws banning on-the-job political activity, as well as university policy.

The most believable explanation I've heard is that he has a tape of her saying, Why'd he do this; Why'd he do that -- which sounds like Whitey do this; Whitey do that.

Following along with GRC, that means there's a 'longer tape', where you find out who 'he' is (Say, GWB). And releasing that tape will make everyone screaming about 'whitey' look like buffoons.

JULIUS CAESER FOUND AT BOTTOM OF FRENCH RIVER

France is a strange place to find a man who liked to fight.

He was a military leader turned dictator who had such a complex about his receding hairline that he perfected the Roman comb-over and liked laurel crowns that disguised his bald patch.

In flattering posthumous portraits Julius Caesar was often portrayed as a dashing, healthy-haired, divine being. But now a realistic marble bust believed to be the oldest representation taken during his lifetime has been discovered at the bottom of the river Rhône in France.

The life-sized bust, which has thrilled French archaeologists, shows a man in his fifties with the receding hair said to have given him a complex after taunts from his battlefield enemies.

He also has wrinkles and lines that reflect the war-hardened life of the man who conquered Gaul and whose quest for power was largely responsible for turning the Roman republic into a dictatorship that would later become an empire.

The riddle that remains is why the bust ended up at the bottom of the river in the town dubbed "Little Rome in Gaul".

And they say there are no real men in France.
