Well...he is half white.
About three-quarters of the 9,000 people who turned up to see Barack Obama at a rally in Charlotte, North Carolina, on Friday evening were black. Yet, the section of seating directly behind where he spoke was filled overwhelmingly by whites. The Obama campaign would not say how seats were allocated but it appeared as though a conscious decision had been made to ensure that television pictures showed the senator against a backdrop of white faces.And there's this from a recent Michelle Obama speech:
While the crowd was indeed diverse, some students at the event questioned the practices of Mrs. Obama’s event coordinators, who handpicked the crowd sitting behind Mrs. Obama. The Tartan’s correspondents observed one event coordinator say to another, “Get me more white people, we need more white people.” To an Asian girl sitting in the back row, one coordinator said, “We’re moving you, sorry. It’s going to look so pretty, though.”Let me just say, before he asks. Yes Obama, I do mind if you dance "wif" my date.

Obama is so clever. Filling the backdrop with Whites. Did he pay them? Seriously, we need to check on that. Has anyone noticed if it is the same White people behind him and his wife at every media event?

It's sad because I already know how this is going to pan out. Both of the Obamas will make excuses and say they did not know what their staffers and organizers were doing. And both of the Obamas will get away with it. Because offending Whites is okay these days. Freaking pathetic.
