Watch the weasel squirm.
Here's Obama on Monday:
"I personally would want to see our tragic history, or the tragic elements of our history, acknowledged," the Democratic presidential hopeful said. Now, anyone who isn't a foaming at the mouth Obama supporter can't interpret that statement as to mean anything other than that he in favor of reparations. But here's Obama today:
"I consistently believe that when it comes to whether it's Native Americans or African-American issues or reparations, the most important thing for the U.S. government to do is not just offer words, but offer deeds."
"I have said in the past — and I'll repeat again — that the best reparations we can provide are good schools in the inner city and jobs for people who are unemployed," the Illinois Democrat said recently.Sure Obama, you're half-white, go ahead and offer half an apology.
Obama says an apology would be appropriate but not particularly helpful in improving the lives of black Americans. Reparations could also be a distraction, he said.
