9/11 SEVEN YEARS ON

Well, here we are 7 years later and there is still a giant hole where the World Trade Center once majestically stood, and for many of us, gaping holes in our hearts. Once again I watch the tribute on TV and wait for names of people I knew. The shell of one of my company’s buildings still stands frozen in time like some kind of horrific time capsule. Seeing the north tower fall from the 59th St. Bridge was like an out of body experience knowing I had friends and colleagues at Cantor Fitz most assuredly still in there. It never seems to get easier. For me at least. I wonder about the rest of this country a lot lately. For too many of us I believe the feelings that day provoked in us are gone. I speak of course of the flaming liberal nut bags among us. The Troofers and the Olbermaniacs who see conspiracy behind it all. This country has become complacent in 2008 I fear. The fact we have a freak show “Community Organizer” thisclose to becoming the leader of the free world is proof of this. What has this freak show proposed to fight our enemies? 50 billion dollars in foreign aid to promote alternatives to Madrassa education in Arab countries. He plans to bolster our ability to speak other languages and learn more about different cultures. He wants to open “America Houses” where English would be taught and contain western libraries and internet cafĂ©’s. Can you say soft target? He wants to create an “America’s Voice Corps” where volunteers go to Muslim counties and explain our values. Wonderful! Can you say hostages? He promises to call for an Islamic summit at the White House in his first 100 days as president where I guess his superior oratory skills will convince them to hug us. People, when one of the two nominees to be president of the United States of America is talking like this, we have trouble. Basically half this country has forgotten the events of 9/11 seven years ago and is blind to the fact that since we started fighting back, there has not been a single attack on our soil.
I have not forgotten that day and still feel the anger like a fresh wound. The feeling of being attacked and violated in my own town by these cowards is still alive in me. The sick feeling I get when I think of the kids on those planes that could not possibly understand why the adults where going so crazy when it became apparent what their fate was going to be still haunts me often.

I hope enough of this country feels the same.

For if not, we are in for more trouble.

God bless the victims of Islamic Fundamentalism on 9/11. May they never be forgotten.

And God Bless the great men and women of the U.S. armed forces who make these animals pay every day.

absurd thought -
God of the Universe says
there is no good or evil

everything's relative
don't judge a terrorist

All real freedom starts with freedom of speech. Without freedom of speech there can be no real freedom.
