Putting this into context, and remembering this was cut in 1957, and that the world had never heard anything like this before, this very well might be the best rock vocal ever. And perhaps the worst rock video ever. Life is funny like that. I can only imagine what the people around Elvis in the studio were thinking when this came out of his mouth. Goosebumps. That's what I get when I hear this.

The guy was flat out the best vocalist ever. Right up until the end he could belt it out. When he could remember the lyrics, that is.
