This is not a lie. It is a clarification. In the earlier clip, he uses the phrase "single payer plan" & universal health care interchangeably in a broad general sense. Now, with the crack-pots saying he wants to have government death panels to euthanize old people (now there is a ridiculous lie meant only to scare), he is simply clarifying the current bills under consideration. He may want to go to a government type single payer, universal health care plan eventually (as he stated in your earlier clip), but that is not the current plan that is under consideration. He realizes that we can't get there in one step.
I am a liberal that can afford health care. I have a bachelors degree and own my own small business. However, I am uninsured because I don't "qualify" for healthcare from anyone (Aetna, Blue Cross, United Healthcare and all the rest - I have called them all). I would be glad to become insured if someone would simply take my money.
Let's hope someday Americans don't have to "qualify" for FireFighters to put out their house fire, or "qualify" for Police services. Does having Public Firefighters and Public Police forces make America Socialist?
