Obama Caught on Tape Defending Himself from "Socialist" Allegations

Being a little touchy about allegations that he is a socialist, Obama felt the need to call reporters to obsess about a question that was asked of him by the New York Times. Are you a socialist?. This tape is significant for several reasons. One, Obama engages in a petty tit for tat where he calls reporters long after the initial question and answer session. This man is the President. He should act like it. Second, Obama's defense of himself is remarkably weak. Basically, he makes the point that Bush was a big spender, so what's the big deal? Of course, the question isn't about Bush and Obama overlooks so some major distinctions. Bush reduced the deficit 4 out of 8 years despite 9-11, Hurricane Katrina, two wars, and a recession he inherited. How does that justify his socialist policies. And finally, the tape is a perfect example of just how clueless Obama is without his teleprompter. How many "uh"s and "um" can you count?

One other thing I'll add to the above. Why would Obama be so stupid to assume that his call would not be recorded? He can't be happy with his response.

Clearly this man is over his head. People like us knew this all along. I feel sad for the ones that thought he'd be different. The fact he felt he needed to make this call shows how thin skinned he is. Blaming the Bush administration is totally unpresidential too. Bush had numerous opportunities to bash Clinton and I don't remember him doing it. We are totally screwed with this guy.

Gotta love it when he says "I have more than enough to do without having to worry about the financial system".

Like wasting precious time looking for reassurance from second rate reporters.
